Staff and Volunteers at the Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania are concerned for the wellbeing of one of their dogs stolen from the Hobart Dogs’ Home in Risdon Vale overnight on Saturday March 31st. Hemi is a 5 year old, sandy coloured Labrador Sharpei cross, with a distinctive blue tongue. She is microchipped and was found missing from her kennel early on the morning of Sunday April 1st. Hemi is in need of urgent medication, and it is paramount that she receives veterinary care as soon as possible. Staff at the Hobart Home are anxious to see Hemi back with them once more;
“We just want Hemi returned safe and sound. We have a thorough screening process for all our dogs up for adoption, and are concerned that in Hemi’s situation this protocol may have been neglected,” says Robert Broadway, General Manager for the Hobart Dogs’ Home in Risdon Vale.
Anyone with any information that may help the police in their enquiries is urged to contact the Hobart Dogs’ Home of Tasmania on 6243 5177, or Tasmania Police on 6230 2859.
