Volunteering

If you love dogs become a Volunteer Dog Walker.

How does it work?

Volunteer Dog Walkers provide dogs with much needed exercise and social contact.

Prospective dog walkers undertake induction and training sessions.

Volunteer Dog Walkers must be aged 16 years or over.

Children aged 13–16 years may walk dogs but must be accompanied by a responsible and trained adult.

Special restrictions apply to children under 13 years of age.

Having completed your orientation and training session, you are ready to begin walking dogs.

Dogs are walked one at a time.

Volunteers can also get involved in dog training and helping to reinforce trained behaviours.

There may also be opportunities to participate in Scent Training (perfect for high energy dogs), T-Touch Dog Massage and working with timid dogs.
