Wish List

The Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania receive no recurrent government funding and are not affiliated with the RSPCA. We rely solely on private donations, fundraising events, grants and adoption fees to continue operations. These funds help cover the cost of food, medical supplies, and veterinary expenses. Your donations, both monetary and in-kind make our work possible.

Much needed items include:

  • Kennels and crates (particularly medium to large sizes) — used in our Foster Care program and to transport dogs when needed
  • Towels and blankets (polar fleece) — our blankets in kennels are changed and washed daily
  • Second hand leads and collars in good condition (particularly small collars)
  • Toys such as kongs, nylon chew bones and bungee rope toys for hanging in puppy pens
  • Clam shells for paddling pools in the yards
  • Treats such as milk or biscuit bones or shmacko’s are a favourite
  • Dog shampoo (particularly for sensitive skin)
  • Dry beds for the vet room
  • Bleach
  • Tissues and toilet paper
  • Whiteboard markers for writing dog’s details on kennels and yards
  • Photocopy paper,  A4 and A3 laminating pouches
  • Stamps
  • Colour photocopier for printing our own fliers and promotional material

We currently have a food sponsorship with Purina using their ProPlan range, in order to keep the dogs on a consistent diet (and keep their tummies happy) it would be greatly appreciated if any food donations could be of that variety. Many thanks.

Items can be dropped in to any of our three Homes in Burnie, Devonport or Hobart. If you have other items you think may be useful, please don’t hesitate to call our Fundraising Co-ordinator Cathy Craw on 0488 776 072

We sincerely thank you for taking the time to read our wish list.
